CITO on tour: today - Brazil

CITO on tour: today - Brazil

14th - 22nd July 2011

Brazil is currently breaking all records and last year rose to the position of the seventh-largest worldwide economic power, with a gross domestic product increase of 7.5%. Exports to this booming country have grown by a fifth, thereby exceeding the threshold of one billion Euros. This is making economic history for Brazil, and if nothing else is a good reason for increasingly setting our sights on the Land of the Sugar Loaf Mountain.

Our sales manager Stefan Schöffel, together with our technical sales manager Roman Kaschitz, travelled to Sao Paulo in Brazil at the end of July to visit our new agency Profili.

Profili will be looking after the entire Brazilian market from now on, ensuring that CITO products and solutions continue to gain acceptance there.

As world market leader in exports of creasing systems, it is imperative for us to bring our expertise to the market at an early stage, to enable us to secure market shares, keep investing in research and development and continuously improve our product quality.

As an introduction to an informative week, intensive training on our product range was provided for the sales, technical and warehousing staff at Profili, which laid down the foundations for the successful marketing of our BoxLine products in Brazil.

This was followed by several scheduled events and customer visits. Two customer seminars brought us into contact with a total of 90 attendees from 35 companies. Working together with Profili we showed our Brazilian customers how to use our CITO BASIC creasing systems and ran through the complete production process.

The interest level amongst attendees was very high; since we improved CITO BASIC by using a synthetic base material giving improved durability and adhesive performance, worldwide demand for CITO BASIC has shown very positive growth.

Work carried out by our research and development department has led to a reintroduction of BASIC Mini and the expansion of our BASIC Off-center product range with several new types and sizes.

In light of the positive feedback from our newly-appointed and successful agency Profili and the numerous enthusiastic customer reviews, we can now look to the future with optimism. Brazil’s own future prospects are looking excellent (football World Cup 2014, Olympic Games 2016) and we are equally convinced that alongside our strong partner Profili we will soon be reaping the rewards of our efforts.

Our thanks go the entire staff at Profili for organising the event so well and to all the attendees who contributed to its success with their many questions and suggestions.
