From Joker to CITO PROfile

CITO PROfile – the ultimate C profile

Since entering the field of die making supply with our FormLine product group, we have been pursuing our aim of developing our range as well as new products.

We are now delighted to present our first new development.

Previously: The C profiles traditionally found on the market, including our Joker profile, were manufactured from the same material. This material not only had to fulfil mechanical requirements but also those for the surface properties of a rubber profile. The result has been a compromise, because the mechanical properties (such as elasticity) were limited by the surface quality requirements (non-marking and non-sticky) and vice versa.

The new CITO Solution: Our new C profile CITO PROfile meets both of the above requirements and utilises two components. One component forms the core, the second one forms the outer skin. The core component provides the best mechanical properties and the material of the outer skin provides the best surface texture.

The core component is made of synthetic rubber, which has excellent elastic properties. These properties provide the material’s resilience to return to its original profile (memory effect).

The advantages are:

• The rubber profile is suitable for use with very high-speed machinery.
• The die cutting process is more repeatable due to increased long-term stability; loss of strength during the first million runs is reduced by 50%.

The outer skin is optimised for contact with the material to be cut.

The advantages are:

• The white colour* prevents the rubber profile from marking the working material.
• To facilitate clean ejection, the surface of the outer skin is non-sticky.

Important Note: Both components are bonded during manufacture and cannot be separated. This has been confirmed by internal and independent customer tests. Despite the significant increase in performance, however, there is no increase in costs.
