CITO at Print Pack India 2011 - excitement in New Delhi
16-21.01.2011
India - the land of contrasts - is emerging into one of the most powerful market economies in the world. This country - nine times the size of Germany - is projected to have a rapid economic growth rate in 2011 of up to 8%. Germany is anticipating a growth rate of 2.1%. Good reason, therefore, for us to be represented at the Print Pack 2011 Trade Show together with our partners of many years standing A.S. Print Aids. This is now the tenth time the show has taken place. Over 45,000 m2 of floor space was made available for the more than 400 international and national exhibitors. Print Pack has been registering a continuous increase in visitor and exhibitor numbers for years; in 1999 there were already in excess of 35,000 trade visitors recorded.
On location at the fair, our sales director Stefan Schöffel saw for himself how significant the printing and packaging industry is becoming in India. As an exporter, it is important for us to recognise overseas trends and developments early on so as to be amongst the first to bring our expertise to the market, thereby securing Germany as a business location. Because engineers and IT specialists from India are preceded by their excellent reputation.
Our research and development department is also equipped for world change and globalisation. This has enabled us to successfully position our RSP system on the market for creasing, die cutting, kiss cutting and perforating in offset printing. This professional inline finishing system meets high quality standards and is ideal for large runs. It saves both time and costs and the grid sheet can be archived for repeat printing jobs.
Our next step was to develop RSP Easy to provide easier handling as required by printers. Ideal for those just starting out in inline finishing, it is quite straightforward to mount and dismount without special training. This cost-effective solution for short runs met with lively interest from India’s printing industry.
The packaging industry is also benefitting from the product innovations and enhancements from our research and development. At Print Pack we gave a preview of our new CITO BASIC. This crease finishing is based on a newly-developed high-end material which can increase service life by up to 100%, thereby optimising process stability and cost-effectiveness at the same time. Visitors were won over by the simple handling of the finger lift and the absence of residue after removal of the creasing strip. The final product is scheduled to be launched worldwide in March 2011.
Looking back, we are pleased with our success at the fair in this fast-growing and very exciting world market which offers a variety of opportunities for building and strengthening our business ties. Exciting times lie ahead of us!
Once again our warm thanks go to our partner A.S. Print Aids for their organisation and smooth running of the fair.
