Interview with Solid & Corrugated Paper

Interview between Jürgen Marien and Solid & Corrugated Paper on the occasion of his visit to Tokyo in June

In June, Managing Director Jürgen Marien visited YUUKOHSHA CITO TRADING CO. LTD, one of the very first CITO representatives. The two companies have enjoyed a long-standing, trusting and amicable business relationship. As part of the visit to Tokyo, Mr. Yuzo Taniguchi, the Managing Director also organised a press meeting with the Japanese business journal Solid & Corrugated Paper. Here are some extracts from the interview:

Jürgen Marien first spoke about to the worldwide market situation. “In order to be successful in a globalised world, one must react to the individual issues and challenges of the specific markets. In Europe, CITO-SYSTEM GmbH have focused on building their network of sister branches and direct distribution, and have also developed new fields of business. CITO sets the benchmarks in the graphic industry, and in order for this to continue its own research and development is continually expanded. The CITO F&E (research and development) team is made up of a team of 13 colleagues, and around 8 % of the turnover is invested in research and development. To strengthen the diemaking business, we work with a well-known die producer and have founded our own development group, the DieFutureGroup, whose goal is to develop innovative projects to improve the technology for diemaking. Between 1998 and 2010 CITO run its own Seminar Center, and this idea is now being taken up again: in the future a new showroom will be installed at CITO.”

Mr. Marien continues further, “The management system of CITO-SYSTEM GmbH is certified according to ISO 9001, 14001, and OHSAS 18001 standards. In this way the company also fulfils the standards of the demanding European Eco-Management EMAS, also known as the EU eco audit. This offers the client the security of working with a partner that takes the issues of environmental protection, job security, and health management seriously, and implements measures to deal with them.” Mr. Yuzo Taniguchi expanded on this by saying that CITO-SYSTEM GmbH is also certified according to AEO: “Even 20 years ago, CITO had its quality management certified according to ISO 9001, one of the first companies in the industry. AEO is still new. This means that CITO is always progressive.” On the topic of digital printing, Jürgen Marien noted, “This is developing quicker than before. At drupa, developments in this area can be expected.” Finally he stated that CITO would present several product innovations at drupa.

The visit to YUUKOHSHA CITO TRADING CO., LTD was a pleasant and worthwhile experience both for the entire YCT-Team as well as for Mr. Marien, and we thank the entire team for the time spent together in Tokyo.

The Company YUUKOHSKA CITO TRADING CO., LTD has already been selling CITO products in the Japanese market for many years with success. The CITO representation will therefore also exhibit at IGAS 2015, which takes place in Tokyo from 11th-16th September 2015, and will present, amongst other things, Creasing Matrix such as CITO CMR, the RSP Inline Finishing or CITO CounterControl. We wish our agency every success for the trade fair.
